2. Privacy in the liveCalc app
liveCalc processes calculations and documents locally on the device. It contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, user accounts or third-party SDKs. Optional ECB requests send the standard connection information described below, but no notebook contents.
Optional exchange rates
Only when you explicitly request an update does the app retrieve the public daily ECB exchange-rate dataset over HTTPS. The ECB receives standard connection information such as your IP address. No notebook contents or calculated values are sent; no cookies are used. Rates and their date are stored locally for offline use. There are no automatic background requests.
Locally stored data
The current notebook, calculation history and settings are stored in the local app container so they remain available between launches. You can delete notebooks and history entries in the app. Export, sharing and printing happen at your request; you manage copies and device backups separately. Uninstalling on macOS may leave local data behind.
Files and sharing
The app accesses documents only after you select them in the system file dialog. Export and sharing require your action. The selected storage or communication service may process the supplied content under its own privacy policy.
App Store and Apple
The app is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple is responsible for downloading, purchasing and updating; see the Apple privacy policy. If you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with diagnostic and usage information under its privacy policy. We use it only to fix issues and improve the app. You can revoke this choice in Settings under Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Die ECB privacy statement describes security logs containing IP addresses and request timestamps, with retention of up to ten months. The precise handling of the XML endpoint has not been independently verified. Without further updates, no additional rate requests occur. Contact the ECB, for example at dpo@ecb.europa.eu, about access or deletion of these server records. You can delete downloaded local rates under Exchange Rates; inserted formulas and ECB server logs are unaffected. Uninstalling on macOS may leave local app data behind. Manage exported copies and backups separately.
